To understand where you are is to leave it - a paradox that gains little significance on the long haul flights that depart Australia daily.
Is it arriving or departing that is more anticipated?

Setting aside the origin and the destination to focus on the flight itself: I'm a big fan of the few moments of exhiliration as the acceleration presses you into your seat on take-off, and the moment of floating just before the wheels touch down at the other end.
