This weekend was a nice mixture of touristy sight seeing combined with hanging out with friends as a local would do.
On Saturday we walked around the Citadel and went to the Museum of Archaeology which was quite interesting. It was funny because you are supposed to pay to see all the exhibits but my clever auntie told everyone that she was from Gozo so shouldn't have to pay and they let us all in for free! This didn't work however at the one exhibit where the attendant was female...go figure! After walking around in the hot sun all day we came home to rest our weary heads before watching the sex and the city DVD and having some dinner. I know what your all going to say, you watched it again! but my cousin hadn't seen it and I have only seen it three times before (he-he). OK so I'm a bit obsessed, I get it! After that we headed out for a few quiet drinks and then it was off to bed for this old chook.
Our next stop was lunch at the bayside restaurant in Bugibba, which wasn't too bad at all. Although I did order fried calamari and chips expecting it to be like what we would get at home but that wasn't at all the case. Its not battered and it's cooked in some kind of tomato sauce, very similar to my mums octopus stew, luckily i really like that!.jpg)
We spent the afternoon watching the football (soccer) with some of my cousins and their friends at a bar near by. I'm not really that into it but its a lot of fun watching everyone get so carried away with it all. Another coffee later it was time to head back to the ferry terminal to start making our way home. It really was a fun day out.

It's a nice 25min ferry ride from Gozo to Malta but the bus to Mosta leaves a little to be desired. The buses are pretty old school (which translates to - they look cute but are pretty uncomfortable and a little scary). It was about a 45min ride with middle age couple in front of us who really needed to get a room, if you know what I mean.
We met Rose's boyfriend and went to Mdina which is the old capital of Malta. It's a medieval town, with narrow quiet streets, situated in the centre of the island. It has a magnificent view of the island, which we enjoyed sipping coffee from a nice little cafe.

Hey Sis,
It was lovely to see that you are enriching yourself in our heritage, and enjoying it at the same time. So you have to settle an argument that you have started between mum and dad and tell us who you are with in the photo of you in a group of people.
I would have guessed that they get into football over there as much as us with our rugby league is that the case? So by now according to your calendar (Yes I have been looking at it regularly) Jack would be with you? Is he enjoying it over there? Also Aunty Vicky's house is absolutely gorgeous...(must be my inner wog coming out) apparently dad is going to buy one over there. lol
Love hearing your stories even though i am a bit jealous...keep in touch and keep having the best time as I can depict from your writing.
Love Trevor, Mum and Dad
